Carolyn Nelson-Goedert is an education and social justice advocate and the Florida PTA Vice President for Leadership Development. Carolyn serves as the Co-Chair of the Real Talk Coalition for Education Equity, representing Florida PTA. She is the immediate Past Chair of the Urban League of Greater Miami Executive Committee. Volunteering on several National PTA committees, among them Membership, Field Service, Strategic Planning, and Nominating and Leadership Development provided numerous opportunities for Carolyn’s personal growth and development. Championing grassroots leadership development programs resulted in Carolyn being named a 2016 Miami-Dade Women’s History Coalition Woman of Impact. Following a successful career with the United States Postal Service, Carolyn’s passion for developing leaders made her a natural fit as Catalyst Miami’s Vice President of Community Leadership, overseeing grassroots leadership development programs.
